Three engineers, the founders of Flexinnova kft, Hungary, invented and developed an original process for effectively decreasing the slipperiness of plastic packaging films and woven fabrics. In a strategic co-operation between Flexinnova and machine manufacturer Starlinger & Co Gesellschaft m.b.H. (“Starlinger”), Starlinger developed and now sells anti-slip coating machinery called gripTEC to interested customers, for the production of anti-slip plastic films and anti-slip woven fabrics.

Starlinger claims to be the world’s leading supplier of machinery for producing woven plastic packaging, plastic recycling and refinement.

As part of the co-operation, Starlinger now holds the patent rights for one part of the world, and Flexinnova holds the patent rights in other countries. Consequently, all enquiring customers from the latter countries will be directed to Flexinnova as a contact person. Flexinnova’s region covers the majority of Europe, plus North America, Japan and Australia.

Flexinnova is offering its cooperation to film (or woven fabric) converters who are interested in making and selling anti-slip film (or woven fabric) products in countries where Flexinnova holds the patent rights. Technically, the respective license from Flexinnova is required for the purchase and use of the gripTEC anti-slip coating machinery from Starlinger for such activities in countries where Flexinnova holds the patent.

Flexinnova’s first licensee was a heavy-duty packaging film manufacturer active in Hungary. Foltrade kft (an affiliate of Flexinnova) gives in its website many real-life examples of the patented technology being successfully used in anti-slip film sacks.
